Former First Lady and wife of greek shipping mogul Aristotle Onassis, Jackie O is a woman who needs no introduction.
It’s no surpirse that she is often cited as a style icon. During her early years, she loved wearing Oleg Cassini, Chanel and Dior and although her outfits costed thousands of dollars, her look was easily translated to American women.
In the ’70s, Jackie’s style continued to evolve. She swapped her ladylike pastels and boxy separates for wide leg trousers, striped shirts, silk scarves, espadrilles and oversized sunglasses for daytime dressing and draped, patterned, glamorous gowns for evening. Until her death in 1994, Jackie O continued her reign as one of the most stylish American women.
